Introduction to building and programming RaspberryPi based Robots in Python
Duration: 5 Days
This workshop aims to go beyond the “follow a cookbook style recipe” approach to teaching embedded Python programming on the RaspberryPI. The robots we build will be based on Lego robotic components used together with the PiStorms hat a RaspberryPi 3.
The programs and algorithms explored in this course will be concerned with solving practical problems such as search, navigation, path planning and object recognition. This will also involve exploring motor and servo control, some image processing using OpenCV and consideration of multi-tasking.
The course assumes a good basic knowledge of Python programming such as might have been acquired studying GCSE Computer Science and AS Level Computer Science, or attending our Getting to Grips with Python summer school workshop.
