Fieldbus Systems and Data Communications
Duration: 5 Days
Intended Audience
This course is for engineers who needed a comprehensive overview of digital communications protocols and systems in industrial environments
Synopsis
This course is concerned with the design of digital communications with industrial plant environments. Starting from the basic principles of data communications and the iso-osi model it covers the more widely used industrial communications protocols. It also considers important aspects of communications protocols such as reliability, fault tolerance and real time support. At the physical layer it covers radio, coax, twisted pair and fibre optic communications media. The protocols covered include :
- RS232 and RS485
- Ethernet
- TCP/IP and applications using TCP/IP
- IEC 61158 and Fieldbus standards – Foundation fieldbus, CAN, EtherCAT, Modbus, Profibus, AS-Interface
- HART protocol
- Ethernet Powerlink
- Industrial Internet of Things
